Buckle up again, our 2023 overseas adventures are not over yet!
Bruce is reinvigorated after his restful weekend and can’t wait to head west to Devon and the Plymouth region. We excitedly drive down to have our much anticipated reunion with Kate and Al, who we haven’t been able to see for five years due to Covid ! Far too long for sure ! They are on holiday from Scotland & visiting Al’s sister who owns Warleigh Barton farm estate in Devon.
We’re back in the U.K. after another smooth ferry crossing, this time from Le Havre, in France, to Portsmouth.
Here, it’s all about Wraysbury, a wonderful wedding, heaps of water & Warleigh Barton farm later. Yes, the common theme is the W’s ! Ha !

On our journey to the Arc De Triomphe, along the avenue des Champs-Élysées, we admire theses famous fashion houses !
Bev has a very difficult decision to make, what stylish fashion should she model today!? Mmmm…. What do you think? She finally chooses the colourful floral flowing pants and blazer with the sleek, bob cut wig ! When in France …..

Bruce, not looking quite as stylish as Bev today, heads excitedly north to ….perfect Paris!
Bonjour everyone ! Hope you aren’t too exhausted after yesterdays hilly tour of the local village of Montsoreau.
Our plan today is to cycle along the lovely Loire river and venture into the beautiful town of Saumur.
The weather forecast is for another warm, sunny day, so please slip, slop, slap on your sunscreen! It should be an approximate 30 km round trip back to our campground ….if all goes to plan!
Come with us to the beautiful Loire Valley ! Our destination is Camping De L’Isle Verte which we will use as our base while we explore the region by bike.
On the map here, you can locate the village of Saumur & our camping is in Montsoreau, which is 10 km to the east…..I know, we’d never heard of this place either!
Now, do a quick service on your bikes or grab an electric bike if you can! There may be a few steep little hills today to test out those legs of yours

Driving north along the south west coast of France & Mark is keen to try the local oysters fresh from the sea ! ….a La naturale of course!
Yes, we’re now in fantastic France but only just !
We’re visiting the famous village of Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Porte , 8 kms from the Spanish border in the Basque hinterland, in the foothills of The Pyrenees.
But first …. business before pleasure today.
Mark makes his grand appearance from Bruce modelling his favourite, famous, snazzy red trousers! .…NO shorts today !!
