Yes, perched up high in the “hop on, hop off” yellow, double-decker bus we toured the colourful city of Porto, albeit slowly due to the traffic congestion, and Metro roadworks!

Leaving the mountains, Bruce is keen to see the sea! He takes us to this traditional, little fishing village of Angeiras , 20 km north of Porto.Naturally, Bev couldn’t resist a cuddle and free fishing tips from this cute fisherman!

Leaving Régua & the Douro region the views once again are spectacular ! The river snakes along far below us & more beautiful terraced vineyards too !
We drive along the Rota do Vinho do Porto (the wine road to Porto), about 25 km westwards !

The weather is warming up, and the sun’s shining for a drive down the mountain into picturesque Pinhao on the Douro River. More spectacular views of vineyards and wineries ( Quintas in Portuguese), as far as the eye can see!

Our plan is to drive south to the famous Douro Valley wine region, and on our way we overnight in a simple campground.

Excitedly, we cross the border into the far north of Portugal and Bruce is exhausted after the long drive and happily nestles amongst the trees beside the lush riverside!
