It’s time to hit the road in our shiny black limo. . . . . Mercedes van!

We are all excited as we travel south to coastal town of Budva for our first stop!

This elegant bronze “dancing girl” statue is the beautiful emblem of Budva, related to a story 4500 years old!

This is the site of a fifth century Church.

We all buckle up as we are driven high up into the mountains with many switchback turns and rock tunnels.

Our destination is the Ostrog Monastery perched high on a mountain top and built into the cliff face. This 17th century monastery founded by Saint Basil is the most visited pilgrimage site within the Serbian Orthodox Church.

We are required to wear long body coverings to enter the cave/church where we join the procession past the coffin where Saint Basil is enshrined.

Zigzagging back down the mountain en route to Zabljak we see and smell smoke . . . . . There are wildfires close by. . . . . . In fact I spot flames roadside and firemen.!

Our driver and tour guide act calm as we continue on . . . . . There’s some anxious passengers in the bus.!! Arriving safely later in the afternoon at the Polar Star hotel we can at last relax together and discuss our adventurous day in the mountains of Montenegro!
