Rugged up today as temperature has plummeted to 20 degrees !! . . . . 3/4 pants and even a vest for Bev as we explore Nördlingen. (Wikipedia) This old town is also totally encircled by a well preserved medieval wall and towers, however it boasts to be the only town that you can walk the entire walls – 2.7kms !! . . . so the challenge is on to check this fact out.

Romantische Straße . . . here we come !
Onward bound we travel along Germany’s most popular holiday route – The Romantic Road – Romantische Straße which draws over two million visitors each year!! (wikipedia) . . It is near impossible to choose between photos for our blog now!! UGH!! . . . . it’s always a good idea to start our exploring with a Kaffee and delicious German Kuchen!

Bev’s Mission Accomplished
Struck it lucky again with a peaceful, shady campingplatz, 10kms from Passau! . . . . plus the added bonus of . . . . a BIG ZUM BAD especially for Bev!! No crowds here, so Bev starts her training for the Synchronised Swimming Olympic (over 60 ish) Team 2020!!!? Swimming therapy is just what we need after our cycling adventure!

Racing off, on automatic pilot now, after a not so comfortable sleep in the Penzion! Tired but excited to be close to Budapest on our final leg of 45 kms.

Stage 755 ! – or that’s what it felt like!!?
Somewhat refreshed after lonnnng showers and some sleep, stage 15 is racing towards Sturovo – 60 kms!!
Mark can’t help himself and leaves the peloton and wanders the trackside Roman Ruins.

Day of Drama on Tour de Donau!!
Off and racing on stage 14. . .,, not quite !?!?! Marks bike has a rear tyre puncture! !!
UGHH!!
Oh Well, Bev will have to have another cold drink or two while Mark sweats it out on the repair.
The Tour is Sizzling hot!!
Stage 13 and the peloton is still baking in the sun! It winds through Mosonmagyaróvár – try saying that even without a beer!?!?! Apparently this is the place to come for dental work. There are 350 dentists here – the highest density per head in the word.
Hungary . . . here we come!!
After two great days in Bratislava we head off on stage 12 of Tour de Donau towards Hungary. Taking a slight detour onto an island, we come across the Canoe World Youth Championships!! Mark takes a seat and judges the Polish team as they brave the rapids – training for next weeks competition.. . . . looks pretty treacherous to us!!
