Our GPS guides Bruce closer and closer to Roma (Rome). Along cobbled streets with ancient walls on either side of us and finally to his CAMPERSPOT only 2km from the Colosseum and the centre of Rome. One thing for sure – the Italian drivers live up to their reputation. Indicators are for decoration, a toot of the horn means “lookout – I am coming through” and swapping lanes at last second is considered normal here. Consequently ambulances are zooming around everywhere… any wonder why (Bev can hear one now!!).The panel beaters here are obviously kept very busy.

Time to rest our weary legs and put pen to paper (or bits to interweb) after some action packed days.
Bruce meanders along the winding Tuscan countryside taking us to historic walled villages of Volterra and San Gimignano, then on to Florence!!
Tuscany, our travels continue!
Fellow tourists recommended we visit Santa Margherita and Portofino . . . . so why not!?!
We parked Bruce in the day carpark, grabbed our bikes and cycled down to the Mediterranean coast, passing Christopher Columbus and Vittorio Emmanuelle looking important and grand.

Legging it to the Italian Lakes
It’s Tuesday morning and we hit the road heading North East to the famous Lake Como and then onto the more relaxed and equally picturesque area of Lake Garda. Lake Como was densely populated with 50’s – 60’s style buildings and not many spots for Bruce to pull over in the heavy traffic. The steep shores were packed with houses. We enjoyed the spectacular view of all the mountains in the backdrop.
