Speed Boat and Beaching

An exhilarating three-hour fast boat adventure from Perast to the famous Blue Caves for swimming and snorkeling was fun and memorable.

We motor into one of these large submarine tunnels set up in the 1970s and where (much later) James Bond’s Casino Royale was filmed.

Our boat tour stops at the tiny island of Our Lady of the Rocks – established in the 13th century. There’s a good story behind this Island on Wikipedia.

We dine below our apartment at a small local restaurant, delicious! Home-made vegetarian spaghetti and guess who savoured a tender eye fillet steak??

Hidden below the roadside we discovered the perfect beach! Clear, warm water 27°, light, welcome breeze and 30° weather. Very pleasant – sorry to brag….. not really!

The setting was perfect for some of Bev’s aquatic calisthenic stretches . . . in the magnificent warm waters of the Adriatic Sea – Bay of Kotor!

Mark jumps in for a refreshing dip whilst Bev is hard at work writing this blog !?!

Our sunbeds are so comfortable and worth the €35 for the pair – for the whole day.

Early this morning the skies were hazy and we could smell smoke which dissipated as the day progressed. There are fires but not close by. The fire trucks look old – hopefully ready for action.

My seafood linguine was delicious at this seafront restaurant.

Our visit to Perfect Perast has been just that! Highly recommend a three or four day stay – particularly at the “Gem of Perast”
