Granada is well known for it’s famous Alhambra which is the best-preserved monument of the period of Arab/ Moors control of the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal).
Alhambra is an UNESCO World Heritage site since 1984.

Olive tree plantations as far as the eye can see! However, significant drought & extreme heat has affected their growth & fruit production. Hence prices of olive oil are soaring to record highs!

Somehow we managed to discover a wonderful, peaceful, oasis amongst nature !…… Taking a gamble, Mark suggested we visit this region, which is off the beaten track or obvious tourist route & hardly visible on the map !
I relax & stretch out, as usual, as Bruce takes us along small winding roads ……..
Bull territory !
Bruce takes us on a tour past olive groves, vineyards, flat plains & even large, black Spanish bulls…….in search of more “prettiest” villages.

After searching “prettiest little villages” in Southern Spain we decide to find them! Come along & explore with us! The sun is shining too.
Next stop, Burgos
Time to leave the comfort of camping Igara and venture south west to Burgos.
Exploring further afield from San Sebastián
Let’s explore further afield today!
We jump in a taxi at 9am to the underground central bus station in central San Sebastián.
You have two choices: join Mark on his one and a quarter hour bus trip to explore the city of Bilbao, or come with Su, Pete and yours truly to the quaint seaside village of Saint Jean de Luz, only 40 minutes away! Mmmm……decisions!?
However, there is a small hiccup to our plans!……

Bruce is reinvigorated after his restful weekend and can’t wait to head west to Devon and the Plymouth region. We excitedly drive down to have our much anticipated reunion with Kate and Al, who we haven’t been able to see for five years due to Covid ! Far too long for sure ! They are on holiday from Scotland & visiting Al’s sister who owns Warleigh Barton farm estate in Devon.
