Bruce is reinvigorated after a week’s rest in Zeeland at our friends home and keen to hit the road again!! We’re off through Belgium and down to France! Our destination is Camping Huttopia in Versailles. It’s a peaceful, treed environment and a fabulous spot for our weeks stay.

I head off to this relaxing heated pool in the campground while Mark does some work!!

Bon Appetite!! I cook up the Plat Du Jour for us in my new French apron and new French skillet!.

Versailles Palace and parklands is a 20 minute bike ride away & we book tickets and a self-guided Palace tour there.

The opulence, grandeur and decadence is very overwhelming. No wonder there was the French Revolution. The monarchy were not popular and consequently their lives ended unpleasantly with beheading, etc. (King Louis IV and Marie Antoinette).

The Hall of Mirrors

Elaborate bedrooms

King Louis IV in all his gold glory!!

The immense gardens took hours to meander around

A ten-minute walk to the station from our camping and a 50-minute train ride we’re in central Paris!!

When in Paris you have to float down the spectacular Seine in a riverboat!

Menu du Jour at The Royal Bar, no less.

Next stop, Luxembourg Gardens in the 7th.

The peaceful fountain – La Fontaine Medicis 1862 is worthy of a pic & painting.

100’s of upward steps later we are up in Montmarte!! This is the staircase from the Metro to ground level!!

The heavens open up as we approach Sacre Coeur.

We take refuge in this cute, tiny restaurant in the cobblestone laneway/street in Montmarte. Beef Bouginon for Mark and an enormous saucepan of moules and frites for moi!!

Sipping our cafe allonge in Versailles we’re entertained by street performers.

This grabbed our attention: – a recycling bin!!

What’s this…. dry cleaner.

Celebrating our Aussie Bruce Tour 2025 in Paris at Nous 4 (4 of us) restaurant. I googled authentic (AFFORDABLE) restaurants, and this popped up!

It was a delightful, cosy French restaurant that was full of happy, joyful customers by the time we left at 8:30pm Mark was adventurous and selected the sardine main course! Bon Appetite!!

Leaving Versailles, Bruce drives past the palace on our way north to Dunkirk and our ferry crossing back to UK. We stopped at Ruth’s in Paris on our way through for great catchup and delicious brunch.

It’s been a memorable adventure again. Thanks for your many comments and glad you’ve enjoyed the ride with us.

Keep well and happy,

Bev & Mark & Bruce.
