Well, of course we did! The boat is about to depart so grab your cameras (phone) and enjoy the quintessential views of Amsterdam with us.

The canals are naturally flooded with boats, but we can just relax and enjoy the beauty of Amsterdam.

There is a slight delay to pass through bridges because of the queue of vessels waiting.

Finally, it’s our turn and we will need to breathe in as we glide (electric boat) under the narrow bridge. It’s okay, there was room to spare.

How majestic is the Grand Amstel hotel? It’s opened back in 1867.

So many interesting buildings along our canal cruise.

A pleasant wander through Amsterdam, past the Rijks museum.

These tiny cars grab Mark’s attention.

There’s time for pizza before the free classical concert on the canal. Hundreds of bikes already here indicating it will be well attended. Prinsen Gracht Concert.  link

We managed to squeeze in amongst the crowd on the canal bank. Many small boats arrived early to a great vintage spot.

The VIPs are seated, and the concert begins with a beautiful harp performance. The evening concludes with the crowd sing along to the Amsterdam anthem! The lyrics speak of pledging the heart to Amsterdam’s Canal and the special feeling of belonging to the city. Singing “Aan de Amsterdam’s grachten” together is considered a signature Amsterdam experience. Wiki here

After the wonderful concert we made our way back to the Metro station admiring the beautiful lights on the bridge and were amused by the giant LEGO windmill!
