As we say goodbye to fantastic Croatia, we also say goodbye to the nice weather! Bruce is a wee bit confused today . . . . what country am I driving through now? In this corner of Europe with the borders so close by, we notch up 4 countries on one day!! Croatia, Slovenia, Austria and Germany! We have to pay for the privilege too with Vignettes for Slovenia and Austria. There are many tunnels here!

We are amused by road signs . . . even an enormous Vanilla / Custard Slice advertisement!

We ascend the alps, past the logging camp to an overnight spot high amongst the clouds in Bavaria, Germany.

Bruce is extremely excited today . . . he is visiting his birthplace and the Erwin Hymer Museum! He’s sure to meet up with some long lost relatives??!! He isn’t disappointed either. The modern museum has an excellent display of the evolution of the caravan and motorhome!! Lets take you on a walk past them all! . . . . .

Traveling west across Germany to Esslingen (near Stuttgart) there are more surprises in store for Bruce!! At the free stellplatz (camp spot) he is reunited with his mate Bluey! Yes, we catch up with Mark and Mireille (from Melbourne) and their motorhome Bluey.

Over a delicious dinner in a German restaurant we exchange travel stories and experiences! We wander past the 1200 year old gothic castle with its unique twin towers joined by a passageway! Also discover the oldest continuously occupied, wooden framed house and other beautiful buildings.

To reach our stellplatz we walk up 300 steps inside the city walls and look back over the city & vineyards renowned for their sparkling wines!
