The day of reckoning is almost upon us! Mark was up at the crack of dawn , as usual, completing some final “jobs” on Bruce. He successfully changed our gas system to the GASLOW system allowing us to conveniently top-up with gas at many petrol stations (like LPG in your car) rather than wait for the gas to run out then swap the bottle. Each country has different gas bottles !!
Next, we head off the the famous Portobello Road, London to collect our super sonic electric bikes from Just-e-Bikes. Almost the centre of London!! Click HERE
They look amazing so now we need to confirm this with a road test.!!!_ _ _ _ . . . mmmm, we feel confident . . . . . why not visit the Queen!! So we head off to Windsor Castle with our shiny bikes sitting comfortably on the back of “Bruce”!! We excitedly unload them in the castle car park & whoosh. . . we are blips in the distance. Sun and blue skies surprise us as we enjoy the beautiful surrounds of Windsor and Eton. The bikes live up to our expectations & we have a great afternoon particularly flying up the hill next to the castle passing the crowd of tourists!!
Loving the bikes!! Hope they aren’t to heavy putting them on Brucey.
Can you charge them up while driving the camper?
Yes, I have installed an inverter (pure sine wave inverter – 1000watt). Good for two bikes or Bev’s hair dryer – but not both!!
Great to hear from you, have a great day.
Mark
Looks great!!!
Looks so fab! Can you take bikes on the tube?
Hi guys,
Not allowed on the tube, but all above ground railway is welcome, outside of peak hours.
Have a great day
Mark.
Sounds a fun and creative way to explore the rich history and landscape of Europe! Would imagine the churches both quaint and massive would be intriguing to meander through also. Harry often enjoyed this adventure in Holland with their massive pipe organs, architecture and history of people. etc Read an interesting article last week (waiting to have a neck MRI!) about Monet’s purchase of his Normandy house in 1890 along the Seine River with sloping enormous garden, which he transformed into rambling complex of exquisite flower beds and paths, and his subsequent purchase of the adjoining property which he converted into the enchanting oriental water garden….his subsequent water lily fixation for the next 30 years….wonder if they have tours through his garden currently?
Looked out the window this morning to notice that our maple has turned autumn colours…recent rain has also beckoned in the next Melbourne season! Off to pilates…looking forward to a cuddle and walk with our precious grandson, Eli on Wednesday! love to you both Lyn and Harry xxx
Great Lyn,
Monet’s gardens are beautiful. The Lily pond is exactly as per the famous painting, we visited on our Bev 50th trip.
Have a great day,
Mark and Bev.
Marvellous how things work out when properly researched.Sounds great….apparently the Queen was away, or you would have mentioned afternoon tea!
Howdy,
The Queen was not in but Bev thinks she saw Camilla running into the castle!!?!
Have a great day,
Mark and Bev
Just my kind of bike!
Hi mum, it is proving to be our kind of bike too. Comfort, speed and good looks – all in one!!
Have a great day,
Mark & Bev.
do your bikes have GPS’s on them or is that screen just for telling you how many km’s your batteries have left?
Howdy,
Oh blimey, that is about the only thing it doesn’t have. Use the iPhone for that! However getting lost can also show you more of a place than you thought, as we discovered today!!
Have a great day,
Dad n Mum
My old stomping ground Bev – enjoy!!! Hope you zoomed up the Long Walk where the queen usually waves in her carriage….Great weather you’ve got.
Did you go inside Windsor Castle? Pummy, Leon and I did the tour! Castles are the best. I loved Windsor as the sun was out when we went! Looks like you had the same weather – awesome!
Howdy, We cycled the town and area on the bikes, so did not do the tour, but the environs are spectacular – especially on a nice day.
Have a great day,
Dad and Mum
