Bonjour & bienvenue(welcome) to France!

We say “adios” to spectacular Spain & “bonjour” to France as Bruce escorts us across the border(no real border these days) into fantastic France.

On our journey to France, we have a one night stopover, in the car park area, in the gorgeous, historic town of 🌹Roses, Spain. It’s beautiful however we don’t have time to explore it & so it’s on our “return here” list. Our aim is to be in Nice & Monaco for the last 2 stages of the Tour De France this weekend.

We drive further along the coast for 2 hrs & we’re in southern France, at the seaside town of Cap D’Agde.
Ten years ago we staying here & it holds special memories! It was here we received a phone call from Sabrina & Ryan to say that they were expecting…..twins!! We were to become grandparents for the 1st time! Sooo exciting!

We’re staying at La Clape Village Camping Park & it has been revamped & updated since our last visit. The hefty prices reflect this & it’s holiday season, so they can charge what they like. Our smallish site, with the mandatory ensuite, was 90€ per night, about $170 Aussie dollars & the prices rise next week! Usually a powered site has averaged €30 per night.

So our site comes with an outdoor shower ensuite. It actually feels quite liberating & reminds me of the show Gilligans Island …..ok, a lot more civilised though! I loved that show!

“Bruce” is Marks’ office for the next 3 days …..or should l say “sweat box!”
There’s no air – conditioning when we stop driving so it gets to 35 degrees, even with the fan on! ….At least he is in holiday mode with Hawaiian shirt.

Meanwhile, l attack the cleaning & the mountain of accumulated washing. The site resembles a “Chinese laundry!” Unfortunately, the dryer at the caravan park was out of order!

Yep, it’s super hot & l hear the pool calling me!
Actually, this peaceful pic is before the pool is open & before the crowds all arrive in their droves at 9:30am.

The park has excellent facilities & a fantastic holiday program/entertainment, mainly for the children. One evening the staff all dressed up & put on an amusing dance show on stage! The kids joined in the dancing & had a ball.

Grabbing Mark out of his “office” we head down to the beach (100 metres) & somehow find room for our beach towels. l think half of France must be holidaying here!

We celebrate our last night at Cap D’Agde at a friendly little restaurant opposite the beach. There’s a lovely cooling breeze too!

Moules ( mussells) & frites are the specialty here & they’re  delicious too!

Now, what’s Mark up to here ?? Poor Bruce was playing up & needed Marks expert attention….. Fortunately, I’m the expert at capturing all the action shots! Ha!
